Board Member - Young Men and Women In Charge Foundation, Inc.

The mission of YMWIC Foundation, Inc. is to empower and prepare economically disadvantaged and historically underrepresented youth to excel and become leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) careers through a structured and rigorous curriculum, academic tutoring, mentoring and financial assistance programs accomplished by leveraging alliances with K-12 school districts, universities, corporations, and our committed partners.  YMWIC supports young adults through our newly formed Pre-Apprenticeship program in the STEM related trades.

The Young Men and Women In Charge (YMWIC) Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors is a governing board with legal and fiduciary responsibility to the organization. All YMWIC board members are required to fulfill this legal and fiduciary obligation.

We are looking to fill two vacant positions on our Board to include:
1. Board Treasurer: Candidate must be a licensed C.P.A.:  Responsible for leading and overseeing of the financial affairs of the organization to include but not limited to: 
2. Board Fundraising Chair: The fundraising chair is responsible for supporting fundraising programs, b) overseeing and reporting on operational and board level fundraising programs.

General Summary:

- Each member of the board of directors is required to make at least an annual financial contribution $500 to the YMWIC Foundation, Inc.


- Each board member must serve as a lead on at least one committee of their choosing. As a volunteer role, the interested director can participate in multiple committees. However, if a committee is without a lead, then the Board shall revisit committee priorities and determine resolution.
 
- Each member of the board of directors is requested to attend a minimum of ¾ of the board meetings and ¾ of their chosen committee meetings. 

- Each member of the board of directors is required to undergo an annual review to go over goals and objectives for the year.
